I started out in construction in 2011 as a junior project manager in Zimbabwe then moved to Mozambique in 2015 into the same position with Berry Juice Construction where I grew into my position as a senior project manager undertaking various construction projects in Northern Mozambique from shopping centres to resettlement villages. I am now the Country Manager of the newly merged companies, Berry Juice Construction and Fenix Construction Services, under the new banner RadX Construction.
Oteng Sebonego holds a BA degree (cum laude) in Actuarial Science from the University of Hartford and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He has broad experience in private equity, financial services and technology across Africa. His earlier experience was with Fortune 500 companies GE and Aetna, based in the US.
Luc holds eight years’ experience in Investment Management in Africa, three of which are in fixed income and five years in real estate. Before joining Grit in May 2017, Luc worked as Assistant Portfolio Manager for an African Fixed Income Fund. His current position as Senior Investment Manager at Grit includes overseeing acquisitions, developments and disposals for the Group. He was part of the project team working Grit’s listing on the on the London Stock Exchange in July 2018. At a portfolio level, Luc played an integral role in Grit’s acquisition of a significant stake in a Botswana listed real estate company. In Mozambique he spearheaded the successful acquisition and redevelopment of a corporate accommodation complex in Tete, as well as the redevelopment of Grit’s industrial asset in Pemba. He recently closed co-investment opportunities in Morocco and Kenya on behalf of Grit and is currently focused on pipeline transactions for the Group in Morocco, Kenya, Mauritius and Senegal.
Legal counsel to lenders, sellers, suppliers, contractors or investors of most relevant investment projects made in Mozambique since 1996, providing advice to foreign and national investment projects (including legal setup of greenfield infrastructure projects), project finance (including local review of LMA and other international contracts), M&A, privatizations and concessions, procurement (including local review of FIDIC and similar EPC contracts), governance and corporate legal restructures, and risk assessment reviews in areas such as mining, banking, transports and communications, food and beverages, oil & gas, energy, real estate, industrial plants, tourism. Ziyad Adam is a Mozambican with a Msc in International Banking and Finance from Strathclyde Business School with over 12 years’ experience on the extractive and oil and gas industry in Mozambican he was a key figure on the negotiation of the Gas Sales Agreement with EDM to enable CTT development and LPG sales agreement on the PSA development and supported the project to achieve final investment decision. Recently moved to Standard bank group has the head of oil Gas.
Clavio Jorge Macuacua joined Agility Logistics in 2015 as the Commercial and Operations Manager for their Oil & Gas Project. He has hands on experience in project management having held previous roles as a project manager in the Oil and Gas sector in Mozambique. He has extensive experience in business development and provides technical oversight on projects to ensure high quality service delivery. A key focus in Clavio’s portfolio is building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local market conditions and regulations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and is working towards his Master’s degree in Gas & Petroleum Management.
Edson has been with Standard Bank since 2017 where he is a Senior IB Manager responsible for the E&I and REF Portfolios in Mozambique. He has over 10 years industry experience across Investment banking, CIB Credit and Consulting, having been involved in some of the largest leveraged transactions in Mozambique, including the US$25bn Moz LNG Area 1 Project, the US$140m first of its kind Portfolio structure completed by SB REF Africa team in the continent and the award winning Global Infrastructure deal of the year in 2020 by Global Finance. Edson is trained in economics and holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
For the past 13 years I’ve worked for Standard Bank, Africa’s biggest bank by assets, starting as Trainee Accountant and enjoying frequent promotion in reflection of results delivered. Nelson Rego has in his background a vast experience of more than 2 decades, in the area of real estate valuation and consultancy, being responsible for the general operations of Prime Yield and has as main focus the new businesses and commercial relationships. It has been active since 1998, having obtained certification, by the CMVM, as an expert appraiser of real estate investment funds in 2003. It became a member of the RICS (FRICS) in 2007 and Recongnised European Valuer (REV) by Tegova in 2017. In the field of property valuation and real estate projects, the company he leads collaborates with the main banks operating in Europe, Africa and Latin America. Since 2010, he has worked with the main Funds involved in the purchase and sale of NPL&REO portfolios. With the acquisition of Prime Yield by Gloval, in December 2018, Nelson Rêgo assumed, in parallel with the activity of CEO of Prime Yield, a position at Gloval, responsible for the development of the International business in the areas of real estate appraisal and consultancy for investment funds.

As Head of Hotel Advisory in Sub-Saharan Africa, Wayne focuses on delivering strategic advisory services to local, regional and global clients across Sub-Saharan Africa. Wayne has over 14 years’ experience in the hospitality real estate industry. His broad range of experience includes hotel feasibility assignments, commercial due diligence for hospitality platforms and portfolios, hotel asset management and operator selection and management contract negotiations. Wayne joined the team at JLL in 2015, prior to which he was a Senior Consultant with a regional hotel and tourism consulting firm. Other previous roles include analyst at JSE listed Hospitality Property Fund and Consultant at hospitality and tourism advisory firms. Wayne has a BA in Tourism Development from the University of Johannesburg, a PDM from WITS Business School and an MSc in Property Studies at the University of Cape Town.
Farhana Razak has a Graduation in Business Management from Maputo’s University of Eduardo Mondlane, Master in Finance and Master in Banking Management both from Madrid’s Instituto Universitário de Posgrado. She began her professional career in 2000 as an Auditor at Ernst & Young, working with companies in the Industry, Commerce, Telecommunications, Banking and Energy sectors. In 2002, she moved to the Consulting area, where she was involved in IT Systems and Human Resources development projects. She joined BCI in 2004, at the Risk Management Office, where she evolved from Technician to Office Director. Between 2014 and 2018, as Adjunct Central Director of the Retail and Business Department, she managed more than 30 business units in Maputo and their respective client portfolios. In 2018, she took over the Bank’s Financial Markets Department, overseeing the Central Treasury, Trading Room, Sales and Analysis Offices. She has represented BCI in several financial events, assuming the role of moderator, speaker and trainer. Currently, she performs the functions of Central Director of the Financial Markets Department of BCI and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IMOBCI.
Graduated in Architecture and Physical Planning, Graduated in Higher Development Studies and postgraduate in Spatial Development and Planning, with more than 35 years of service and relevant experience in technical assistance, planning, management and monitoring of projects, particularly in school constructions with World Bank and other international financial institutions procedures (AfDB/IDB/DANIDA/European Union), participatory construction programs and with community involvement and emergency programs. Experience in the field of education at various levels, particularly in the institutional area, in teaching (primary, secondary and higher), in pedagogical research, in participatory community training and in expanded school construction, including the accelerated construction of more than 9,000 (nine thousand ) classrooms. Experience in the management and conservation of built cultural heritage and experience in municipal management. Management experience at State and Municipal level. Training and professional training in relevant areas of its activity.
Manuel Vieira is the chairman of Meridian32 company group, based in Mozambique. Meridian 32 is a services-focused group, including facilities management, property advisory, IT and telecom consulting, environmental impact assessments and technical training. Manuel has been a serial entrepreneur for the past 20 years, mostly in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Portugal. On his previous life he was a senior manager at Ernst & Young (auditing) and KPMG (consulting), the Financial Manager for Pestana Hotel Group in Southern Africa and special consultant to the Board of Petromoc.
Manuel has a UNISA B-Compt Financial Accounting Degree.
Bernardo is currently the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Barclays Bank Mozambique, where he is responsible for the Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Markets businesses. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Barclays Mozambique. Bernardo was previously the Head of Investment Banking Coverage across the Southern and East Africa region. He was appointed to the position in June 2013 with over 13 years of banking experience primarily in the Project and Infrastructure Finance sector. After joining Barclays in 2009 he has worked in the Project Finance sector with a focus on Portugal. Bernardo was then appointed the Co-Head of the International Debt Finance team at Barclays, based in London, responsible for all corporate debt origination in the EMEA region. Prior to Barclays, he was the director for Infrastructure Finance in Banesto (Santander Group) in Madrid and VP of the Project Finance team of CaixaBI (Caixa Geral) in Lisbon, with a focus on Europe, the US and Latin America. Bernardo has a degree in Economics from the Universidade Nova in Lisbon.
José Castilho is the MP of Broll in Mozambique. Prior to this role he was with RANI Investment as the Commercial Operations Manager. In Maputo Rani developed the iconic and integrated business tourism and real estate project, Rani Towers, comprising the Radisson Blu hotel, residential, offices, conference centre and retail uses. José formerly lead Real Estate Consulting, in Maputo, as General Manager. For the last 20 years José acted as business manager in lines of business related to consultancy, services and technology. As Head of Technology, for a private and investment bank in Portugal; General Manager for a Technology Company in Mozambique. José studied Computer Science in IST Portugal, and Business Management in UCP in Portugal.
Nuno Tavares is a Partner and General Manager at REC. With a bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Management from ESAI (Escola Superior de Actividades Imobiliárias) in 2002, Nuno has started his career as valuer at CPU Consultores, one of the biggest valuation companies in Portugal, where he has worked from 2004 till 2013.
In 2011 Nuno concluded a Masters in Real Estate Management and Valuations at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, allowing Nuno join the RICS as a Member.
In 2013 Nuno joined the REC team, having taken leadership of the company as General Manager in 2015.
Aly Faruque serves as a Commercial Director for the Corporate Banking segment at Millennium Bim, the largest financial institution in Mozambique. In his role, Aly assists the financial management and requirements of some of the largest companies operating in Mozambique, including developers, construction companies and retailers. Previously he directed Real Estate Asset Managers, Innovative, one ofthe most recent private initiatives in Mozambique, with the focus to provide integrated Real Estate management and consulting services to Investors, Developers and Institutions.
Prior to joining Innovative Asset Management,Aly was with CR Holdings for over 8 years during which he assisted the development and managed a portfolio of more than USD 100M He has currently attending the MBA program from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.In addition, Aly also serves in a volunteer capacity at the Board of the Council for the Ismaili Community in Mozambique.
Nuno Sá Fialho is currently the Commercial Manager at Broll Property Group, Mozambique. Prior to joining Broll, he was a Partner & CEO at Promobásica Gestão Imobiliária Lda;
Partner & CEO Profield Consultants Ltd; Marketing Director at Império Bonança, SA; Market Manager at The Coca Cola Company (Portugal) and an Assistant Director of Banco Finantia, SA. Nuno is an expert Business Development Manager specializing in Real Estate project management and strategy. He has over 15 years of experience in Venture Capital. He holds an MBA from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbour and a Licentiate Agricultural Engineering from U. Técnica de Lisboa, Portugal.
João is the Development Manager at Hodari Mozambique. He holds a Degree of Architecture and Urban Management and a Masters in Real Estate Development from some faculty. After becoming Director of Advisory and Valuations in CPU Consultants, one of the largest Portuguese consultancy companies, in 2010 João completed a second Masters in Real Estate Management and Valuations from the University of Economics and Management of Lisbon. João is also a registered Chartered Surveyors with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). As Director in CPU João worked with Angola, Cap Vert and Mozambique. In 2011 João moved to Maputo to start REC, a consultancy company in Mozambique that provides valuations, market and feasibility studies.
Gonçalo is Property Portfolio Manager for Grit Management Services (a division of Grit Real Estate Income Group) in Mozambique. He holds a master’s degree in law from Lusíada University in Lisbon, Portugal. Prior to joining Grit Management Services in 2021, Gonçalo owned and managed an advisory firm that marketed premium investment opportunities and provided counsel to high-profile investors. He also served as legal consultant for energy sector subcontractors in Mozambique and is a former area director for Regus, having first entered the property sector as general manager of Pam Golding Properties Mozambique.
